We are so excited to have had the opportunity to vend at ARTWALK in FATvillage (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) this past Saturday - what a way to kick off Memorial Day weekend!
Saturday was hot, but the rain held up and we had a successful turn out! We met a lot of new faces and caught up with a few familiar ones. We were overall thrilled that we got to share our vision and our hope to gift clean water to those who don't have access to it. It was a keen reminder of all we have set out to do and hope to accomplish. After just one year, we have had 2 events to share our story and our vision at two events and hope that it has made an impact on those we had the opportunity to chat with, even if it was only for a brief moment. One step at a time, we truly believe we are inching towards making a difference in this world and hope that we have made a lasting footprint in those we had the opportunity to meet.
With little time to recuperate, we spent time paying respects to those who paid the ultimate price for the freedom we have to follow our dream to impact others. As someone who comes from a long line of military family, who have made my freedom possible, the day was obviously heavy and light for me, in appreciation for my family and others who have served and their sacrifices for our freedom. Here's to the troops - we will never forget! Check out our posting on Instagram to commemorate the courage and sacrifice of those who have served:
Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May, honors men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day in 1868, it originated in the years following the Civil War and was designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades. Decoration Day was reclassified as an official federal holiday in 1971 as Memorial Day. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades.
To the families of the men and women who have served, we offer our deepest respects and gratitude. To the men and women who are serving and to their families, we offer our gratitude, respect and support.
